Board of Directors

  • TOM PETERSON

    FOUNDER

Tom Peterson is Founding Partner of Peterson Rogers Private Wealth in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2006 Tom lost his first wife, Roma, to ovarian cancer and witnessed first hand the many challenges cancer survivors and caregivers face as they cope with the impacts of a cancer and treatment on their everyday lives. In 2014, Tom and his daughter, Brooke, founded the Cancierge Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing non-medical assistance to cancer patients. The foundation ensures that cancer survivors have the resources and support they need to focus on being well.

Tom has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 33 years at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management after joining the firm in 1989. At Peterson/Rogers, he focuses on family office services, specializing in helping high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families preserve, grow, and transfer their wealth across generations.

Tom is also committed to community service, serving on the fundraising board and parish council of his church. Tom also held a position on the board of the University of Utah Alumni Association, where he led fundraising efforts. Tom was an integral part of the University of Utah Crimson Club, where he played a key role in fundraising and marketing when the university joined the PAC-12.

Tom lives in Holladay, Utah with his wife, Cynthia, and together they have six children.

His passion for the Cancierge Foundation stems from his parents’ battles with cancer and the difficulty they both had getting to their treatments regularly—Ben’s father didn’t have a steady means of transportation and, after he passed away, his mother was also diagnosed with cancer and struggled to juggle her treatments, raise her two boys, and run her business.

Ben is also an emeritus board member at Survivor Wellness (formerly Cancer Wellness House), which helps provide free therapeutic treatments, psychological support, and sense of community for families afflicted by loved ones with cancer; Survivor Wellness is a benefactor of the Cancierge Foundation.
