Putting Our Money where Our Heart is

The Cancierge Foundation was founded on the simple premise of helping cancer survivors and their caregivers live better and fuller lives. Since then, we have not wavered from that mission and have sought to fund and partner with community-based organizations to amplify their impact to make a difference in cancer survivors’ lives.

Research has shown that, by successfully addressing Health Related Social Needs and Social Determinants of Health, care outcomes can be improved by as much as 50%. These non-clinical potentially negative impacts to health include financial hardship, lack of access to transportation, insufficient awareness of or education on resources for cancer survivors, limited access to quality and affordable health and wellness care, social isolation, and food insecurity and/or access to healthy food.

Our Solution

The organizations in our portfolio of support are dedicated to addressing one or more of these health determinants and have long track records of making significant impact in the lives of cancer survivors and their caregivers. Much like a boutique private equity firm, we believe in funding a smaller number of organizations and partnering with them to help them deliver as fully on their missions and the programming and services they provide as possible.

Please see below to learn more about some of the organizations and initiatives we fund and stories of some of the individuals your generous donations have helped live better and fuller lives.

Grant Recipients and Partnerships

The Cancierge Foundation partners with other organizations in the community whose programs align with our mission. Grant requests are submitted and evaluated for funding by our board on a continual basis.

Needs Beyond Medicine

Dedicated to helping cancer patients with non-medical expenses, Needs Beyond Medicine came to us with a need to support their program providing transportation services to rural-based patients.

Since then we have partnered with Needs Beyond Medicine to expand their Relief Program that relieves cancer survivors of some of the financial burden associated with a cancer diagnosis by providing financial assistance grants that can be used for living expenses such as transportation costs, utilities, rent, groceries, etc. These grants bring much-needed relief to adults facing extreme hardship during the greatest fight of their lives.

Survivor Wellness

We support Survivor Wellness in their mission to provide free and reduced-cost cancer wellness and integrative health care services to cancer survivors and their caregivers in a home-like setting. Programming addresses mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, social and financial health of those impacted by a cancer diagnosis in the Salt Lake Valley and beyond.

Founded in 1997 as Cancer Wellness House by a visionary group of oncologists, wellness providers, and cancer survivors and caregivers, Survivor Wellness has continuously provided free and reduced cost cancer wellness and integrative health care services and support for cancer survivors and their caregivers in a home-like setting for over 25 years.

Utah Cancer Specialists Ride Share Program

From early on, we recognized that the simple act of securing transportation to and from treatment for many cancer survivors was a very real challenge, especially for those living in rural areas or in areas without clinical care facilities.

To help cancer survivors overcome this challenge we partner with Utah Cancer Specialists to ensure all of their oncology patients get the transportation support they need totaling about 2000 rides a year.
